European Rogaining Championship

 

13-15 August of 2010

 

  1. 1. General Information:

 

  • European Rogaining Championship is 24 hours long. It is an official event of the International Rogaine Federation.

 

European Rogaining Championships is held in the following groups:

  • MO – male teams
  • WO – female teams
  • XO – mixed teams
  • Only teams can take part in competitions, the number of participants in teams supposed to be 2-5 person (M-male, W-female, X-mixed).

 

In addition there are also an age subgroups:

  • MJ, WJ, XJ – the age of each participant should not be less than 20 years old for the first day of the competition.
  • MV, WV, XV – the age of each participant should be 40 years or even older for the first day of the competition.
  • MSV, WSV, XSV – the age of each participant should be 55 years or older for the first day of the competition.
  • Teams can take part in competitions, the number of participants in teams supposed to be 2-5 person (M-male, W-female, X-mixed).
  • Participation in competition is a personal responsibility. Coaches of the teams are responsible for the life and health of children.
  • If there are participants of the age under 14 years old than there must be at least one team member in the age of 18 years and older.

There will be held the facilitated competition "Bukovina Cup" for M14, W 14 and M/W 14 with the control time of 6 hours. The entry fee is 10 euro.The payment is taken on the arrival place.Accommodation,

meals, transport, rent of the chips is according to newsletter 2.

 

 

  1. 2. Competitions leadership:

 

The general competition leadership is made by the Federation of the sport navigation of Ukraine.

  1. 3. Time and location, centre of the competition:

Competitions are conduct on 13-15.08.2010 in Vyzhnytsia and Storozhynets district of Chernivtsi oblast. (Ukraine).

4. Location and map, flora and fauna:

  • The location is heavily and mildly rugged, the maximum elevation difference is up to 400 meters (450-950 meters above the see level). Developed network of forest roads, many small rivers and streams.
  • Vegetation is mainly conifers (spruce) and hardwoods (beech, hornbeam). Cutting and planting young hampered makes the movement difficult. (The samples of the location are on photographs of the web site).
  • Sites with private individual building. (The movement on the private property is prohibited).
  • Also can be found roes, deers, foxes, hares.
  • The map for the competition is done in the period of autumn 2009-summer2010. Scale М 1:25000/ 1:30000, Н-10m.Map size 50Х60 sm. (laminated map). Base materials – topographic map Scale 1:50000.

5. Climate:

At this time of the year most likely warm weather with temporary rains, with the temperature 20-25 *C during the day and 8-17 *C during the night, less likely rains at the temperature 10-15 degrees during the day and 7-10 degrees at night.

  • From 10:00 - Arrival of participants
  • 10:00 – 21:00 – registration
  • 12:00 – 19:00 – model distance
  • 19.00 - 19.30 - Meeting with representatives of the teams
  • 20:00 – 21:30 – meeting with representatives of the teams, evening recreation

 

14. August (Saturday)

  • 07:00 – 09:00 – registration of the participants, mount chips SI
  • 09:00 – the beginning of the issuing of the maps
  • 11.40 - 11.50- Registration in the starting corridor, clearing chips
  • 11:50 – grand opening event
  • 12:00 – start
  • 19:00 – the opening of the food stand at the centre of the competitions
  • 20:32 – sunset

 

15. August (Sunday)

  • 03:14 – moonrise (3/4)
  • 06:15 – sunrise
  • 12:00 – finish
  • 12:30 – the closing of the finish, announcing of the results (13.00)
  • 13:00 – 13:40 – consideration of appeals
  • 14:30 – awarding ceremony, closing ceremony
  • 19:00 – banquet

 

 

 

7. Distance, equipment of checkpoints, marks:

  • Checkpoints are equipped with a prism of standard size and the station e-mark with the number of checkpoints, light-reflected element and the backup mark.
  • The competition uses the system of e-mark SPORT Ident.
  • Chip is fixed on each team members’ wrist by the strap. The maximum allowable difference in time marks on a checkpoint with members of one team is 1 minute.
  • at a distance of 48 checkpoints. The optimal route of 110-120km with a climb of 3500-4000m.

 

8. Equipment:

  • Compass, clothing and footwear according to the weather, lantern, first-aid kit, mobile phone with charged battery.

10. Application, financial and other matters:

Preliminary applications are accepted from 01.01.2010

In the application please indicate:

-          the name of the team;

-          city, country and team;

-          surnames, names and dates of births of the team members;

-          mobile telephone numbers, indicated in the mandatory equipment;

-          desired accommodation;

-          necessary transportation services;

-          necessary meals;

-          e-mail.

 

Additional services:

-          numbers of SI-chips for the each participants or the intention to rent it.

You can only use memory chips with no less than 50 cutoffs

-          photo of the participants for the badge.

 

The amount of the entry fee if the payment is made by:

01.03.2010 – 40 EURO per participant

01.06.2010 – 50 EURO per participant

31.07.2010 – 60 EURO per participant

01.08.2010 – 70 EURO per participant

 

The price for renting the chip is 2 EURO for 1 chip

Penalty for loss of the chip is 30 EURO.

The entry fee for the whole team should be paid within 14 calendar days from the date of the registration; otherwise the registration will be cancelled.

 

Applications for meals, accommodation and transport services will be taken into consideration after the receiving of  fees on the account above.

 

All bank fees should be met by the payer.

In case of refusal of the team or it’s participants from the participation organizers will return the following percentage except bank fees:

-          refusal received until 31.03.2010 - returns 80% of funds paid

-          refusal received until 31.06.2010 - returns 70% of funds paid

-          refusal received until 31.07.2010 - returns 60% of funds paid

-          refusal received until 10.08.2010 - returns 50% of funds paid

In case of the refusal of the team or it’s participants from the participation until 01.08.2010 all costs related to the meals and accommodation will be returned, except the bank fees.

Replacement of the team member is free of charge till 31.07.2010. Starting from 01.08.2010 the team member can be replaced only in additional cost of 5 €.

People who accompany the participants and audience (older than 6 years) who stays at the centre of the competitions are responsible for the accommodation, transportation, food and extra services according to the general rules.

 

11. Awards:

 

Sportsmen of the team who wins the 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in each group are awarded with the medals, diplomas and valuable prizes.

 

12. Transport services for the participants and accompanied persons:

Shuttle bus Chernivtsi-Mygovo goes from the central Bus Station (Schedule departure of buses: 8.30, 10.20, 12.40, 16.40, 18.40), the price is 12 hryvnas (1,2 €) for 01.01.2010.

It is possible to have the previously order transportation if the application will be submitted for this service. The price will be 35 hryvnas (3 €) per person.

Tent Camp at the territory of the resort. There will be organized showers and toilets.

14. Food for the participants and accompanied persons:

The meals are of two types A and B  planned at a cost of 10 euros (A type) and 7(B type) euros per day.

«A type» Breakfast – 3 €, lunch – 4 €, dinner – 3 €. «B type» Breakfast – 2 €, lunch – 3 €, dinner – 2 €.

You also may pay not daily but separately for the breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There is a description of this service at the application form.

The banquet will be held on 15.08.2010 at 19:00 after the competitions- 8€

Also there will be a buffet and a shop open during the competition.

Meals during the competition at a cost of 7 euro (3 euro 4 euro dinner and lunch) is included in the entry fee and is provided from 19.00 14.08.10 up to 14.00 15.08.10-dinner with 8.00.15.09.10 up 14.00 15.08.10 - lunch.

 

15. Training and other competitions:

During the period of 10-12.08.2010 there will be an opportunity to organize trainings using Rogaine maps, that were took place in Chernivtsi region(2006-2010)  or orienteering maps. Possible accommodation in the comfortable Storozhinets” hotel (payment-8Euro for one place) or in Chernivtsi( dormitory -3Euro, “Bukovina” stadium hotel – 6 Euro, other hotels staring from 10 Euro). The approach to the maps – not more than 1 Euro. Training maps 0,3-1 Euro.

Additional information:

  • We continue to take the applications for food, accommodation and transport service.  Because of difficulties with transmission of money on organizer’ account the payment is possible during the registration, but you have to indicate the necessary service beforehand.

·      On the territory of HTC”Migovo there will be organized the parking

for private cars and  minibuses. Cost – 2 Euro per day.

  • Organizing committee is planning to produce memorable T-shirts with the symbols of the competition. Price - 12 Euro. In the application form you should indicate the amount and the size of T-shirts (M,L,XL,2XL). The payment is on arrival.
